A part of the ongoing Fields of Color series I have been working on for the last couple years. Initially this began out of curiosity but overtime has developed into a fascination of creating ethereal plains grounded in color. These layered works are sparked by my love of Mark Rothko and his Color field paintings and the study of breaking down the natural world into its most basic form energized in color and expressive brushwork.
