"We are the Stars"
36 × 36 × 1.5 inches
Mixed media on gallery profile canvas
“We Are the Stars” is part of my tulip series, where each flower is a little burst of life and light. I wanted to capture how something small and ordinary—a tulip—can feel like a constellation, full of energy and connection. The piece is about noticing the brightness around us and in ourselves, even in the everyday. It’s a reminder that we’re all growing, blooming, and part of something bigger.
This is one of my Tulip Series of 2025 ArtPrize pieces proudly exhibited at Periwinkle Fog, located in the bright and welcoming atrium of the Ledyard building in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am truly honored and thrilled to be counted among the select group of just 10 talented female artists featured in this inspiring collection.
