Unruly by Nature. Abstract by Design.
This collection of mixed media paintings on canvas was created as part of my ArtPrize series. Each work begins with a seed of an idea, planted and nurtured through memory—where I gather fragments of my favorite moments, colors, and feelings.
Together, the series speaks in an internal, expressive language that reflects our deep connection to nature. From the fleeting blooms of spring to the enduring cycles of growth and change, these paintings are invitations to pause, remember, and see ourselves within the rhythms of the natural world.
Located at Periwinkle Fog in the atrium of the Ledyard building, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
If any of these speak to you and you’d like to support the collection, I’d be so grateful for a vote!

"My paintings are stitched together from fragments of memory—youthful summers on Northern Lake Michigan, sunsets on the beach, long road trips, my favorite flowers, old homes, old songs. They are cherry-picked memories from a time I can never return to, from a person I no longer am, and from a world my children will never know. Even when I paint still lifes or landscapes through abstraction, I gather only the best pieces, the golden fragments, and bring them together. Perhaps that is why my paintings feel joyful—because they are built from the best parts of the best parts of living."
